A Palm Springs favorite returns to the stage! Palm Canyon Theatre presents Del Shores’ Sordid Lives, a cult-classic dark comedy running October 30 through November 15, 2026.
Set in Winters, Texas, Sordid Lives follows an eccentric family as they gather after the unexpected death of its matriarch. Packed with outrageous characters, sharp wit, Southern charm, and plenty of heart, the play explores family dynamics, acceptance, unconditional love, redemption, and "coming out" in a Southern family.
First premiering in Los Angeles in 1996, Sordid Lives has become a beloved LGBTQ+ cult classic and has been a longtime favorite of Palm Springs residents and visitors. Audiences can expect a hilarious and heartfelt theatrical experience that celebrates the complicated, messy, and ultimately loving nature of family.
