This Privacy Statement outlines how Palm Springs Pride ("the Organizers") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of participants in the Marilyn 100: The Great Marilyn Record Attempt, taking place in May 2026.

As a participant in this historic Guinness World Record™ attempt, your privacy and data security are our priority, particularly in alignment with the 2026 updates to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).​​

To manage your registration and verify the world record, we collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Commercial Information: Payment details (processed securely via third-party providers) and registration history.

  • Physical Characteristics: Dress/tunic size (for your "Icon Kit").

  • Visual Information: Photographs, video footage, and digital images captured during the event.

  • Sensitive Information: As this event is hosted by Palm Springs Pride, your participation may be associated with your support for or affiliation with the LGBTQ+ community.

 

2. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used specifically for:

  • Event Logistics: Fulfilling your Icon Kit, providing event updates, and managing check-in.

  • Record Verification: Sharing necessary evidence (including group photos and participant counts) with Guinness World Records™ for official adjudication.

  • Safety & Security: Ensuring a safe environment in Downtown Palm Springs.

  • Marketing & Visibility: Promoting future Pride events and celebrating the success of the Marilyn 100 tribute.

 

3. Photo & Media Release

By participating in the Marilyn 100 event, you acknowledge that you are entering an area where photography, audio, and video recording will occur.

  • Public Appearance: Your image may be used in news reports, on social media, in documentaries, and in promotional materials.

  • Record Evidence: You grant the Organizers and Guinness World Records™ the right to use your likeness in connection with the official record attempt.

  • Consent: Your presence at the event constitutes your consent to the recording and its release.

 

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Service Providers: Payment processors and Icon Kit fulfillment partners.

  • Guinness World Records™: For the sole purpose of official record validation.

  • Sponsors: Aggregate, non-identifying data (e.g., total participant count) may be shared with sponsors like P.S. Resorts.
